Aces Win First Game, Site News

According to the team’s official website, The Brooklyn Aces defeated the New Jersey Rockhoppers 6-3 last night. Brooklyn native James Brannigan and Mike Christensen netted a pair of goals apiece, while Kyle McCullough had two assists.

No other news is available at this time, [I wish I had more, but I'm only covering the team's home games this season] but at the very least, it’s a great step in the right direction for this team. Anyone that has seen this team practice this season will tell you that they have tons of speed on the forward lines and a crafty and intelligent defense to go along with more than solid goaltending.

Looks like the Rockhoppers found that out first hand last night.

This looks to be the biggest week in this site’s short history, as I still have interviews to post on Rob Miller and Scott Estey [Update, According to a source within the Aces organization, the Hudson Valley Bears have picked up Estey, so scratch that idea]. On Monday, I’ll have a Q & A session with Aces majority owner Alan Friedman, discussing his thoughts on the team and what he thinks the future holds for them. I will also talk to Aces Coach Chris Firriolo on Friday to discuss the team’s two-game road trip before the home opener. Add in a Podcast on Saturday and a recap of the home opener and I think you’ll agree, this is going to be one crazy week on AcesOverBrooklyn.com.
