Aces Destroy Bears in 11-2 Rout

Over the past three weeks, it seems like Aces center Mike Christensen has made a deal with the devil.

Despite being a dependable two-way forward and averaging a point a game for most of the season, over the past half dozen games, he’s been a one-man wrecking crew, recording more than his fair share of multi-point games and establishing himself as one of the true snipers in the league.

Last night in Hudson Valley was the continuation of that process, as the shaggy-haired forward nabbed a hat trick in an 11-2 dismantling of the Bears.

Coming off a rare loss last night to Danbury, the Aces got themselves a three-goal lead going into the second period following a pair of goals of Mike Thomson and an Ian McLoughlin tally, which ended up being the game-winner. Things opened up even more offensively in the second for Brooklyn after goals by Nick Grove, Jesse Felten and McLoughlin’s second. Soon after, Christensen scored a trio of goals for the natural hat trick in just 3:24 that put the Aces up 9-0. A Joe Lovell marker before the end of the period gave Brooklyn a 10-0 lead going into the third.
