Usually when you think of a team that has played as incredibly well as the Brooklyn Aces have this season, you think of the players, not the coach. However in the case of this team, you’d have to give a lot of the credit to Chris Firriolo.
The man the put the band together, Firriolo has a unique talent at this level and has consistently kept his team ahead of the curve, either by replacing from within, or signing players that can contribute.
The rest of the teams in the EPHL haven’t exactly had the same appeal. The Hudson Valley Bears have never recovered after losing Chris Seifert and the Danbury Mad Hatters never replaced former NHLer Billy Tibbetts and don’t look like they’ll find another scorer like Igor Karlov. New Jersey has been relatively unscathed in the injury department and haven’t had many transactions.
