Things may be a bit slow right now with both the Aces and the EPHL trying to find answers on several different questions, but at Aces Over Brooklyn, I will continue to bring you as much information about the team and the league as possible.
Over the next week, I’ll be interviewing both B.J. Kuper and team captain Rob Miller.
Originally tabbed as a defensive/pest-like player, Kuper turned into a solid offensive performer as well, scoring 16 goals and 42 points and was a part of one of the team’s much successful lines, teaming with other fan favorites Eric Frank and Jesse Felten. In addition, he was one of only three players on the team to play in all 49 games this season.
While Aces captain Rob Miller only managed to skate in 22 games due to a nasty hand injury, he still scored 23 points and was a leader in the clubhouse. During his time on the shelf, he even served as the team’s assistant coach.

It may be ice-cold outside, but it’s always hot on AcesOverBrooklyn.com, where there are constant updates on the Brooklyn Aces.
In this exclusive interview done on Dec. 18, before the team took on the Danbury Mad Hatters, AOB interviews Brooklyn Aces head coach Chris Firriolo, who discusses the team’s newest addition, defenseman Tom Collingham, in addition to discussing the depth of his forward lines and some of the injuries that have recently taken a toll on his first-place club.

Coming off their second loss of the season this past Saturday, the Brooklyn Aces will be out for blood this Thursday at Aviator Arena when they face off against the Danbury Mad Hatters. If their last game against one another on Nov. 29 was any indication, this is going to be one nasty affair.
With no indication of how long sniper James Brannigan’s suspension is for or how long assistant captain Rob Miller will be sidelined, the Aces may be shorthanded once again against Danbury.
In spite of being without two of their best players, the Aces can still play with any team in the league, evidenced by their overtime loss to the New Jersey Rockhoppers. However, they’ll have to be on top of their game to make sure Danbury doesn’t squeak out a win.

If the dirt under your nails or the sand in your eyes that you can never get rid of could magically turn into a professional hockey player, the back of it’s jersey would read: KUPER, 8.
The Aces resident pest, B.J. Kuper is the James Bond of agitators in the newly-formed EPHL.
Make no mistake about it, just like Bond’s license to love, Kuper has one of his own as well.
To annoy.
“I’m a grinder, but my job first and foremost is to be a pest,” he said. “To be the first guy in the corners and to hassle defenders and draw penalties. It’s also my job to make the game as uncomfortable as I can for the opposition.”
However, despite his prowess as a pest, Kuper, like a double agent, has no problem masquerading as someone else. With two assists in three games this season, the 23-year-old looks like a first liner on the team’s grind-line with Mike Thomson and Chad Wilcox.
